First Month Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy is exciting! Here you will find the first month symptoms of pregnancy described from a physical and emotinal standpoint. Also, I will be describing the baby's development to the corresponding weeks.

Pregnancy Weeks 1 to 4

    Physical

  • Absence of menstruation

  • Fatigue and sleepiness

  • Frequent urination

  • Nausea with or without vomiting

  • Heartburn, indigestion, flatulence,and bloating

  • Food aversions and cravings

  • Breast changes

    Emotional

  • Symptoms comparable to PMS. Includes irritability, mood swings,and weepiness

  • Feelings of joy,fear,elation,misgivings and a huge range of others

    Baby

  • By the end of the first month, your baby is a tiny embryo smaller than a grain of rice. Already there is a head, a heart that has begun to pump, and a brain. Arm and leg buds appear soon.

Pregnancy Weeks 5-8

    Physical

  • Fatigue and sleepiness-can be extreme

  • Nausea with or without vomiting

  • Food aversions and cravings

  • Heartburn,indigestion,flatulence,and bloating

  • Occasional headache

  • Breast changes

    Emotional

  • Continued feelings of elation, fear,and joy

  • Continued symptoms of irritability, mood swings,and weepiness

    Baby

  • Though only an inch long, the embryo now looks much more like a baby now.

  • By the end of the second month, your baby's arms and feet(complete with finger and toes) have formed along with the eyes,ears,a nose,and tongue.

  • All major body organs and systems are present, but still have a great deal of developing to do.

Pregnancy Weeks 9-13

    Physical

  • Fatigue and sleepiness

  • Nausea with or without vomiting

  • Constipation

  • Continued breast changes

  • Occasional headaches

  • Tightness of clothing around the waist

  • Increasing appetite

  • Occasional faitness or dizziness

    Emotional

  • A new sense of calmess

    Baby

  • Your uterus is a little bigger than a grapefruit

  • Your baby is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces by the end of the month
